We are constantly visiting many local tree farms to make sure we always have access to the best quality trees. Whether you're looking to plant a newly developing tree or a farm grown mature tree, we're here to help you to choose the right tree. Because planting in North Texas can be tricky due to hith high winds, soil differentials, it is important to plant the right tree for the future. We offer tree consultations to help you visualize future growth, root structure and development, and help to maximize the long-term investment you have in your property by properly choosing your new tree.
At the time of your tree planting, our staff will water your new tree, soak the root ball, and also soak the hole to take out all air pockets in order to better acclimate the tree to the new soil. The day after your tree planting you will need to water the tree again by placing a hose at the base of the tree and allowing the water to trickle slowly for 45 minutes. Lawn sprinkler systems are not sufficient to water as deeply as your new tree needs to be watered. Every time you water, use the slow trickle method described for 45 minutes. We want you to completely saturate the tree with water, however watering it infrequently. This technique makes the tree more drought resistant. Do not water a tree that is already moist or hasn't completely dried out as over watering can be even a bigger problem than under watering. Over 90% of trees that fail in the first year are due to not enough or too little watering.
